In this devotional, I have taken about half a dozen verses from Proverbs 15 and thrown some light on them. The entrance of your word gives light. Psalm 119:130.
Vrs 1: A soft answer turns away wrath.
Stop arguing with people, where necessary. It will make your heart glad. Love people and walk in wisdom. Use Psalm 1 to avoid confrontation if possible.
vrs 5: A fool despiseth instruction
Listen more and stay away from fools.
vrs 8: The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to God
Remember Cain’s sacrifice. Don’t compare your sacrifice(yourself) to others, for even all your fingers are different
vrs 16: Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.
Remember Jesus feeding the 5000 people with 5 loaves and two fishes. Godliness with contentment is great gain.
God gives different gifts and talents to different people. For if its not given to you from above, you cannot have it. Pastors be happy about your church size as you pray for more. The increase is the work of the holy spirit.
vrs 22: In a multitude of counsellors, there is safety
Seek counsel from people you can trust
vrs 29: the Lord heareth the prayer of the righteous.
We are the righteousness of God in Christ, so don’t belittle your prayers. The bible says don’t throw away your confidence for it has great recompense of reward.
To do:
- Be happy where you are in life as you seek God to lead you to your destination
- Identify the fools in your life and don’t share anything important with them. Cast not pearls before swine.
